From the CRC Bookshelf: The Road Less Travelled

Another popular work in the the Center for Research and Communication’s catalog of publications, “THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED: PROJECT DEVELOPMENT BY LGUS FOR LGUS” brings together the collective, practical experience of five of UA&P’s most eminent experts – Dr. Colin Hubo; Dionisio Papelleras, Jr.; Dr. Rolando Dy; Dr. Winston Conrad Padojinog, and Gilbert Llanto.

The book showcases the experiences of fourteen Philippine municipalities who succeeded in planning and implementing socio-economic projects. It then takes a close look at that success and asks “how did they do it?”

Published with the support of the British Embassy Manila, it: tackles the many challenges facing Local Government Unit (LGU) Projects; expounds on the experiences of select LGUs in addressing development issues; integrates these experiences to come up with a few key lessons in Project Development that need to be learned by LGUs, and concludes with some thoughts on how local governance can be more responsive.

An extensive appendix section provides detailed project case briefs for the LGUs’ projects.
