The Center for Research and Communication held the National Conference on Revisiting Ideals of Family and Society on November 11 to 14, 2012 at the Ecotech Conference Center in Cebu City.

The three-day event, an offshoot of the erstwhile UA&P degree program Master of Arts in Values Education or MAVE, is where alumni, students and guests gathered to relearn about the family as “the seedbed of culture and society,” a theme in keeping with the program’s foundations. Under the MAVE program, “everyone became an avid and delightful learner of the deepest values, motivations and aspirations, humanity and transcendence of the human person.”

The event was graced by prestigious speakers such as former finance secretary Dr. Jesus Estanislao, award-winning author Dr. Esther Esteban, respected educators Dr. Antonio Torralba, Dr. Severina Villegas and Dr. Ernesto Grio, UA&P founder and economist Dr. Bernardo Villegas, and schools division superintendent of the Department of Education-Region VII Dr. Caridad Labe.
