Dr. Veronica Ramirez was inducted into the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) Division of Social Sciences on November 13, 2015 at its 4th quarter NRCP Division VIII scientific session and business meeting held at Centro Escolar University, Manila. The induction of new Associate Members was headed by Dr. Leslie Bauzon, Chairperson of the Division of Social Sciences. At the meeting, guest scientific speaker Dr. James Loreto C. Piscos gave a lecture on “Church-State Politics in the Justice Issues of the 16th Century Philippines.” The Division Chair also reported on the NRCP-SHC Mamanwa Outreach Program.

NRCP is composed of highly-trained scientists and researchers addressing the growing demands for knowledge, skills and innovations. It was formed pursuant to Republic Act 4120 which aims to promote and support basic research for the continuing improvement of the research capability of individual or group scientists, as well as to foster linkages with local and international scientific organizations for enhanced cooperation in the development and sharing of scientific information. It has 13 Scientific Divisions: Governmental, Educational and International Policies, Mathematical Sciences, Medical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Agriculture and Forestry, Engineering and Industrial Research, Social Sciences, Physics, Chemical Sciences, Humanities, Earth and Space Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine.
