[UA&P, Pasig City, Philippines] – The Center for Research and Communication (CRC) successfully concluded its onsite run of the Data Protection Officer (DPO) Foundational Course this academic year, last April 21-25, 2025. The course welcomed 20 graduates from various sectors, each committed to strengthening data privacy compliance within their respective organizations.
Designed to build capacity in the implementation of the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA), the course equipped participants with the essential knowledge and tools to carry out their roles as data privacy professionals with confidence and competence.
Now in its third year, the DPO Foundational Course is a core advocacy of CRC launched in response to the increasing demand for privacy professionals across industries.
The initiative is part of CRC’s commitment to fostering a culture of responsible data stewardship grounded in liberal education and respect for the dignity of the individual—a hallmark of its institutional home, the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P). At UA&P, the pursuit of excellence is always accompanied by a humanistic approach to development, emphasizing the rights and responsibilities of each person in an increasingly digital society.
CRC also offers the DPO Foundational Course in a fully online format—designed for professionals who need flexibility without compromising quality.
Alongside the foundational course, CRC continues to expand its data privacy services and initiatives, which include privacy risk assessments, privacy management program development, and tailored and customized training. These efforts are part of CRC’s mission to support organizations in embedding data protection into their daily operations and long-term strategies.
CRC congratulates the new graduates and looks forward to continuing its role as a partner in building a privacy-conscious and ethically grounded society.
