The National Privacy Commission (NPC) awarded the Center for Research and Communication Foundation, Inc. (CRCFI) a Certificate of Accreditation. The certification recognizes the institution as a highly qualified, well-experienced, and trusted institutional Privacy Trainer under the Training-the-Trainers Program (T3P).
Present in the awarding ceremony are Mr. Daniel Rodrigo D. Reyes, President, CRCFI; Mr. Cyrus Paolo Buenafe, Chair, Department of Information Science and Technology; Mr. Rommel Deocaris, IST; Mr. Israel Brizuela, IST; Ms. Clarisse Faith Buday, CRC.
In 2018, NPC launched its Data Protection Officer Accountability, Compliance and Ethics (DPO ACE) Program. It aims to establish a skills benchmark for Data Protection Officers (DPOs) to address the high demand for adequate capacity-building mechanisms for aspiring privacy professionals in the Philippines.
Now, the PHIL-DPO Program of NPC seeks to expand the scope and breadth of the DPO ACE. Qualified trainers who are able to educate the public on key concepts involving the Data Privacy Act of 2012, its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and other issuances of the NPC can now be accredited through the program.
The virtual awarding ceremony with the theme “Expanding Reach for Data Privacy Revolution” was held on 18 October 2021, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. via Microsoft Teams which announced the first batch of Institutional Privacy Trainers (IPTs) and Accredited Privacy Trainers (APTs).
