Expand your World, Explore the Universe: A Seminar-Workshop on Energy, Climate Change, Astrophysics, and Cosmology

With the theme: “Expand your world, Explore the Universe”, the Center for Research and Communication (CRC) spearheaded a seminar-workshop on Energy, Climate Change, Astrophysics, and Cosmology for 150 physics teachers of select public science and regional science high schools nationwide.

Dr. Theta Ponce of the School of Science and Engineering facilitated the four runs of the seminar, starting off with the Manila leg held at the University of Asia and the Pacific last May 13-14, 2011. Seminars were also held in Cebu City National Science High School (May 20-21, 2011), MIC Cursillo Retreat House in Davao City (May 27-28, 2011), and Pampanga High School (June 3-4, 2011).

The seminar supports the implementation of the country’s Climate Change Adaptation Strategy, as well as the Department of Education’s continuing thrust to improve the scientific training of high school faculty and students.#
